La Maison Rouge

La Maison Rouge is conveniently located in downtown Uzes. This magnificent, totally renovated, historical building, circa 1830, with its original red brick façade, faces east towards the Eure Valley offering a panoramic view of Mount Ventoux.

La Maison Rouge owes its name to its original red brick façade. The façade, as well as the dramatic central stone staircase have earned the house its historical ranking by the prestigious Batiments de France.

Between City and Countryside

The Parc du Duché is the starting point of many of public trails that attract hikers, runners and mountain bikers alike. Cyclists will also appreciate a number of charming little roads in and around Uzes, from Mount Bouquet to the cliffs of Cevennes (maps available on request).

You can walk everywhere from the Maison. Tour the city or visit Uzes’ historical center (the famous Places aux Herbes, the Tour Fenestrelle, the ducal palace…) and take in this wonderful village ambiance with its cobblestone streets, sidewalk cafes, restaurants and boutiques.

The entrance to the house is located right across the street from the Parc du Duché, a fabulous natural park, several acres large. This relaxing, shaded space, divided by the Alzon River and lined with hundred year old plane trees is the perfect spot for a jog, a game of tennis or just a walk in the park…
