Château de Bellevue

A distinctive and majestic 19th century residence, the Chateau de Bellevue overlooks the village of Villié-Morgon on Bellevue Hill, in the heart of Beaujolais wine country in Southern Burgundy. 
It has been the home of many famous French people including the Lumière Brothers who invented cinema and Princess Lieven born Chateaubriand. Currently owned by the Jean Loron Estates, the Chateau de Bellevue opens its doors to you.

Refined guestrooms, a warm and functional apartment and reception and seminar rooms welcome you to the magnificent surroundings of a 3-hectare English garden. Planted with rare and one hundred year-old trees (Araucaria, Atlas cedar and more) with a magnificent view of the Beaujolais area, the gardens are amongst the most remarkable in the Rhone-Alps region. 
A botanical trail is currently being designed and the richness of our trees will appeal to connoisseurs and neophytes alike.

An ode to rest and relaxation, a green hideaway in the heart of a carefully maintained environment, the Chateau will also delight wine enthusiasts. 
The 22 hectares of vines on the estate are vinified on site in the chateau’s magnificent vatting room, then aged (for some) in casks in the underground cellars. They produce superb and elegant wines including Morgon Chateau de Bellevue and also different climats from the Moulin-à-Vent and Fleurie appellations. 
Wine tours and the tasting area will introduce you to our products, and you can buy a selection of the estate’s best cuvées.
