Owners description

Located in the heart of Arbois, renowned for its vineyards and hometown to Louis Pasteur, LA CLOSERIE LES CAPUCINES welcomes you to a region seeped in history.

Our seventeenth century convent with its thick stone walls will whisper its rich curious secrets whilst giving you an impregnable view of the Capucin Bridge and the Gloriette Tower.

With its 2 Suites and 3 rooms, La Closerie Les Capucines offers you refinement and inspires a sense of comfort and well-being.
All the rooms are spacious, giving you ample opportunity to relax in the timeless, handsome private residence nestled in authentic Jura.

In order for you to relax, unwind and ease away
all the workday stress we have put at your disposal the use of all our different spacious rooms.

Please feel at liberty to make yourself at home!

Our little “best friend to man” (and women!) dogs, are welcome to La Closerie Les Capucines as long as they manage to get on well with the little dog of the house!

A magnificent room in solid stonework, literally seeping with stories of it’s own.

An ideal retreat for a moment of reflection and calm after a hectic day sightseeing all the wonders in the region.

Here one has to make a difficult choice
– an old classic or a light murder mystery novel?
– or maybe the two!

What a choice to make over a glass of local wine!
This is just the place to immerge yourself into the inner pages of your book.

The library is also the “Clos’Art” Showcase.
You can discover an original selection of decorative objects found for you in Indonesia by Patricia !

The garden and the swimming pool

A secret walled garden which literally plunges into the river.

Appreciate the breathtaking panorama of crooked roof tops
and buildings such as the Gloriette Tower which dates back to the 13th century (part of the old castle built in 1270 which was witness to seven sieges and then ordered to be destroyed by Louis XIV)

And when you are tired of all the historical buildings just chill out next to the south facing stone lined swimming pool – flooded not by the river but by the sun!

And when even swimming is too much effort just lie back on a sunbed
or take a nap under the boughs of the cherry tree.
